All user driven design and build projects should be based on solid research of the users, technology and market.
This phase forms a large part of my work and is mostly centered around interviews, diary studies, evaluation techniques such as affinity diagramming and in depth market and technical reviews.

The core deliverables of my work are what I would deem the classic aspects of IA; user flows, sitemaps, sketches and wireframes.
This phase is about taking the understanding of the user and the product and giving it structure and tangibility. It is essential to define key functions and interactions and is best used in a quick sketch iteration format than a heavily detailed specification format. User testing methodologies such as eyetracking are then used to validate decisions

To support my research and IA work I have developed an analytics approach to be able to refine design decisions and gain insight into user activity over time.
The aim is to create embedded processes within organisations that lead to a culture of continuous improvement.
